Remember the Sabbath. But our culture no longer does, and subordinates all values to one: economics. But God made Sabbath the direct enemy of economics, of labour, so that humans would know that they are meant for much more that merely their work, and the idols toward which they direct their desires and efforts. The Sabbath reminds us that we are creatures created to be in proper relationship with God, nature, and one another. We need to reclaim the place of Holy Rest in our spiritual lives.
